The Primary Unit is the relay station for the AerosphereTM carbon dioxide monitoring system. Gas detection levels for all sensors, alarm statuses, temperature, time and date are all visible on a white-on-black LCD display.
The AerosphereTM system typically has three levels of alarm that increase as the concentration of gas increases; these are set for 0.5%, 1.5% and 3%. The indicator lights displayed on the unit correspond with these three levels which are normally blue when carbon dioxide is not detected. When the measured gas concentration exceeds half the alarm level threshold, the corresponding light will flash yellow (0.5%) deepening to shades of orange (1.5%) until the highest alarm level is detected turning to red (3.0%).
There are seven different modes of operation that can be selected using the installer setup menu. To enter the installer setup, the user should hold down the first and third buttons simultaneously and toggle through setups by hitting the corresponding button that says “next”.
It is recommended that the Primary Unit should be placed in a location that is visible for all staff. In addition, the corresponding signage should be placed in the proper location so that it is easily legible. This signage can be purchased on this website.
