CO2 System Recertification Program

Annual recertification of your CO2 monitoring system is required by IFC code 916.11 and is enforced by most local fire jurisdictions to ensure your CO2 Gas Detection system is safe. Completing this process is essential for keeping your permit active and avoiding interruptions to your business.

CO2 Monitoring provides nationwide recertification services and can manage the entire process for you. We track your permit expiration dates so you never fall behind. When your renewal date approaches, we schedule a technician to visit your site and perform a full inspection. During the visit, the technician walks the site to confirm equipment placement and tests the system using CO2 to simulate a leak event. This confirms that hornstrobes, sensors, and all CO2 life safety equipment are functioning properly.

If your system passes, it is immediately tagged with a yellow recertification label that is valid for one year. If the system fails, our technician documents the issue, and we initiate a service call so repairs can be made. After the equipment is fixed, we return to retest the system, confirm compliance, and issue the tag.

Our team also handles the required paperwork and fire department submittals. In many jurisdictions, we manage fire permit renewal fees on your behalf and include them in your invoice. Once your recertification is complete, our system automatically schedules the next one so you stay compliant without having to track deadlines yourself.

One-time recertifications

In addition to our yearly recertification program, we also offer one-time recertifications for businesses that need a single inspection. This service includes the same thorough testing, tagging, and paperwork handling as our annual program, but it is scheduled as a stand-alone recertification for that year only.
